MEGAN SCHUMACHER, MA, LMSW, NASW
Individual Wellbeing Specialist

Have you ever been told "just think positive?" I wonder why it is that we are not allowed to think negatively? Why are we so often told to look on the bright side but not comfortable looking on the gloomier side? We experience such an array of emotions, so why not become comfortable getting to know them all?
Megan has more than nine years of experience with diverse clients in a variety of settings within the mental health field. She is certified in Motivational Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and continues to study other evidence-based therapies to bring to her practice. She prides herself on providing a non-judgmental environment of encouragement, compassion and support. In the past, Megan has had clients express their dread of therapy, but after one session with her, they began to open up and share their excitement about their new journey of self-discovery and healing.
What it boils down to is the HC Studio’s philosophy: offering a comfortable setting to give their clients a different view of what therapy can look like. It is so much more than asking "…and how does that make you feel?" It truly is a journey of wondering about and learning how to better understand yourself. Megan specializes in seeing women aged 17 and older.
Megan’s own life therapy is the outdoors and keeping active with hiking, kayaking and swimming. She loves being in the woods and believes fresh air is great medicine. For four years, she lived and worked in Colorado, and that was motivated by her quest for a better ski environment. She’s now back in Michigan with her husband and rescue dog, Kahena.
